Android Intel x86 Emulator vs Real Device (Performance) -
i'm away home , forgot bring nexus 7 me, i've been developing on emulator. i'm using haxm intel x86 system image , it's loads faster traditional arm system image. then, experience lag when comes rendering simple animations such swiping across viewpager or flipping fragment around "cover flip" sort of effect.
i've googled various articles regarding performance, of them seem compare performance between arm system image , intel system image. since won't have access nexus 7 before release new app, question this:
how performance on intel system image emulator correlate real device's performance? real device faster intel emulator, or can expect see same occasional stuttering see on emulator?
haxm faster emulated arm , if graphics hardware acceleration doesn't cause problems quite usable. able run nexus 10 emulator without problems until "fixed" in hardware acceleration , mac(ati) started freeze every time have launched emulator.
as don't use mac nor windows anymore here values real device in comparison kvm enabled ubuntu:
emulator (4.2.2 intel 7inch, hw enabled, host i7 running ubuntu 64 kvm)
07-25 11:05:40.175: i/performance:(2287): 07-25 11:05:40.285: i/performance end:(2287):
samsung nexus
07-25 12:07:48.352: i/performance:(19139): 07-25 12:07:49.328: i/performance end:(19139)
emulator wins massively. task download few files sdd parse them json write db
